A Long Road Home

The long road home
I hope to find
Is ever present
In my mind
The images
I still now see
Of Father smiling
Straight at me
The houses left
In that old field
The summers grain
The crops will yield
It all sounds wonderous!
It does ring fair
That someday I
Shall make it there
