That Heavenly Wind

It was a solemn day in earliest May
when they finally came looking for you
the jasmine broke softly through the cracks in the fence
where the rose-hinted winds poured through
they were sweet and pungent, both at the same time
an aroma that only we knew
and the wind that blew boldly through breezes so coldly
spread those heavenly scents of you
It was a solemn day in broken July
when they finally came looking for me
the men ringing bells that sounded like Hell
when my first instinct was to flee
they were quick, they were agile, as I jumped over fences
down trails that I thought were for me
and the wind that blew boldly through breezes so coldly
washed your heavenly wind over me
